Getting to Gymnasium13 from Şişli, Mecidiyeköy, Levent and Beşiktaş: A Location Guide

The biggest predictor of whether you keep going to a gym is how easy it is to get there. A step-by-step guide to reaching our Gayrettepe club from the surrounding neighbourhoods.

Gymnasium13 Gayrettepe location and directions guide

When people choose a gym they look at the equipment, the trainers and the price. Yet whether a membership actually lasts is usually decided by something far more ordinary: is it easy to get there? If the journey takes more than twenty minutes, the transfer is confusing or parking is a problem every single time, even the best intentions run out within a few weeks.

We wrote this guide for members who come from outside Gayrettepe and for everyone who asks us "how long does it take from Şişli?". Below is the most practical route from each neighbourhood.

Where we are

Gymnasium13 is on the ground floor of Bareli Plaza in the Gayrettepe neighbourhood of Beşiktaş. Address: Gayrettepe Mah. Pazar Sok. No:2/4C, Beşiktaş / Istanbul.

The single most useful thing to know about the location: Fulya station on the M7 metro line is directly across from the club. Walking from the station exit to our door takes less than a minute, which is why most of the directions below end at Fulya.

Despite its name, Fulya station is not in the Fulya neighbourhood of Şişli; it is in Gayrettepe. Typing "Fulya Metro İstasyonu (M7)" into your navigation app is enough.

From Mecidiyeköy

Mecidiyeköy is our closest neighbour. Take the M7 from Mecidiyeköy towards Yıldız; the next stop is Fulya. The whole ride takes a few minutes.

Mecidiyeköy is also the transfer point for the M2 line and the metrobüs, so whichever side of the city you are coming from, once you reach Mecidiyeköy you only need to switch to the M7 and ride one stop.

If you prefer to walk, the route from Mecidiyeköy square towards Gayrettepe runs along Büyükdere Avenue.

From Şişli

From central Şişli (the Şişli-Mecidiyeköy M2 station and its surroundings) you have two options:

  1. By metro: Take the M2 one stop from Şişli-Mecidiyeköy to Mecidiyeköy, change to the M7 and get off at Fulya. The journey is short even with the transfer.
  2. By bus: Most lines running from Şişli towards Beşiktaş and Zincirlikuyu pass close to Gayrettepe. For current stop information, set "Fulya Metro" as your destination in the İETT app.

If you are coming from Nişantaşı, Osmanbey or Harbiye, the most practical route is again the M2 to Mecidiyeköy, then the M7.

From Levent

Coming from Levent, 4. Levent or Etiler:

  1. By metro: Take the M2 from Levent to Mecidiyeköy, change to the M7 and get off one stop later at Fulya.
  2. Via Gayrettepe station: Gayrettepe station on the M2 line (with a connection to the M11 airport line) is also within walking distance of the club. If you would rather not transfer, get off at Gayrettepe and walk.
  3. By metrobüs: You can walk to the club from the Zincirlikuyu metrobüs stop.

For people who work in Levent and want to train after work, the Gayrettepe route is convenient: the ride is short and public transport runs regularly even at peak hours.

From Beşiktaş

From central Beşiktaş, the M7 is the shortest route. Board at Yıldız station towards Mahmutbey; the next stop is Fulya. You can reach Yıldız station from the Beşiktaş market and ferry area by bus or a short walk.

If you are coming from Ortaköy, Bebek or Arnavutköy, the most reliable option is to get to Beşiktaş first and then take the M7.

From Fulya, Zincirlikuyu and Esentepe

If you are in one of these neighbourhoods you are most likely within walking distance. Zincirlikuyu and Esentepe are a comfortable walk from the club. From the Fulya neighbourhood itself it is either a short walk or one stop on the M7.

If you are driving

Bareli Plaza is close to Gayrettepe's main roads and easy to find on navigation. Because parking options vary by time of day, we recommend asking us for the current situation; we will share the most practical option during your introductory visit or over WhatsApp.

Opening hours

We are open 07:00 to 23:00 on weekdays and 08:00 to 20:00 at weekends, which works for early starters and for people arriving after work. Even at busy hours, our spacious layout means you can train without waiting for a machine.

Before you come

All you need is a clean pair of indoor-only training shoes and comfortable workout clothes. The changing rooms have showers, lockers, hair dryers and basic toiletries ready. Towels are available at the club if you need one.

If it is your first visit, let us know in advance; we will show you around the facility, walk you through the equipment and answer your questions on the spot. To take a closer look at the facility or arrange an introductory visit, just get in touch.
